Our wedding decoration

Unfortunatelly, I was so busy with all the preparations I totally forgot to take pictures of everything. ;) So I had to put together pictures from different sources. Some were taken by our photographer Josef, some by guests and some after the wedding by myself.

I definitely wanted to make this flower garland, as I totally fell in love with it. I first wanted to hang it in front of the dance floor, but it was way to small for the big room. So finally, we hung it right behind our seats in the room to "highlight" where we sat.

We decorated our tables simple with delicate details. :)

We asked our guests to fold origami cranes for us, as we folded 900 during our engagement period and wanted 1000 in total as a good sign for our marriage. :)

The guest favours were different succulents with a "thank you" and a fimo tag with our sign and the fern stamp. I especially loved the flowers we picked out for the decoration.

Of course I made a lot of pompom paper flowers. :) And garlands out of the hundred of cranes we made. :)

The cake toppers on top of our super yummy wedding cake. :)

We also prepared a little guest table with different material to write into the guest book and take pictures with our instax picture camera. Surprisingly the guest table was occupied almost the entire evening. :) And our guest book showed that our guests had a lot of fun writing, drawing and embellishing. :D

Different materials...

...and our instax camera.

During the wedding ceremony we handed out little pieces of fabric, which I'm going to sew into one blanket. I hope I'll manage to sew it. :)

So this is how the entire room looked like.

The location was so beautiful and it suited us so perfectly. :) It's hard to capture the atmosphere in pictures, but I hope you get the feeling of how everything worked together on that special day. :)

THE day :)

We got married! :) :)
I know everyone got that already, but how incredible is this?! :D :D

This was my bouquet...:) Isn't it pretty?! :D

Our photographer was Josef. He takes amazing pictures and is super nice. :) I know him from schooldays back in Cologne. But we didn't book him because I know him, we booked him because of the gorgeous pictures he takes. :D Check out his website for further information. ;)

In this post I want to show you the person-related things I made...so let's begin...:)

I made one white and four yellow boutonnières for the groom, the best man and the groomsmen.

I sewed six clutches for me, my maid of honor and the bridesmaids...

...and courtages for my maid of honor and the bridesmaids. I included a little piece of my wedding dress lace into the courtages. :D

And last but not least I sewed a black bow tie for the groom and a yellow one for our little ring bearer (unfortunatelly I don't have a good picture of that. :( )

And as I continuously receive questions about the material I used in my wedding invitations, I thought about mentioning this briefly in this post.

I got the kraft card board from the shop stempelmeer. I searched a lot in the internet and I think everyone in Germany will agree that it is so much harder to get good material here compared to America. ;) I decided to use this card board, as I just had to cut it in halves to have the perfect size for one invitation.

What I didn't like about the card board was the fact that the front and the back have different colors. While the front has the typical brownish kraft colour I love, the back looks more greyish and dirty. :( See?

At the beginning I was a little sad about it, but I decided to use it anyway and I didn't regret it. :)

So, in the next post I'm going to show you our beautiful location with our hand-made decoration. :)
Wish you all a lovely evening! :)

I made it 12 months!

Dear lovely readers,
unfortunatelly I missed my blog birthday on Sep 4th. :( Taking a break from all the busy days before and right after the wedding and finally enjoying normal life together as newly-weds, I missed it... But nevertheless, I'm happy to announce that I made it ONE year! Yay! :D I can't believe it's already been 12 months I jumped into the wonderful world of blogging. :)

Looking back, I reeeeeeeaaaally enjoyed it. Sure, after getting engaged and after the wedding preparations started to get really busy, I unfortunatelly hadn't much time for blogging...but still... :) I'm very happy how much fun I had developing my little blog and how I managed to do creative things the entire year! Besides, it was so wonderful getting to know people all around the world over this little blog! :)

I'm also very happy about my small number of readers. Thank you so so much! Your comments and your feedback were great and helped me to continue!! :)

So, I'm very excited to be back, even though for just a couple of weeks, as we plan to FINALLY go on our honeymoon in November!!! In the next weeks I will show you all the details of our self-made wedding decoration and of course a couple of pictures from the wedding too. :)

By the way, my wedding invitations were featured in Katjas wonderful wedding blog: Fraeulein-k-sagt-ja. During the wedding preparations her blog was one of my favourite, as she always posts such beautiful wedding ideas! :) Thank you so much for the nice meeting and the beautiful pictures you took!
I'm also working on another feature of my invitations with much more details about the making-of, coming soon. :)

I'm looking forward to blogging again, even though it's just a little break from my big wedding break. ;)
And @all my swap partners: I already started your swaps and pretty soon you'll receive something nice in your mailbox! :D

Wish you all a lovely day! ♥

Wedding crafting and a summer wedding pause

As you might've imagined, I'm currently very very busy... :) I do a lot of wedding related things; organizing a bunch of stuff but also crafting a lot. I tried to do both, organize the wedding and continue blogging. But to be honest, I can't manage to do both, as you might've guessed by my seldom blog posts. ;)

So this is why I wanna take a break. So I won't feel sorry anymore for not blogging. And I can totally concentrate on all the wedding stuff. It hasn't been too stressful since now, which I'm really happy about, and I hope by taking a break, it'll stay like this till the wedding. :)

While saying goodbye and see you all back in September or October (depending on our honeymoon, which isn't booked yet...;)), I wanted to show you some wedding things, I've been working on the last couple of months. I'm going to show you all the details after the wedding and how everything worked together, but still, I wanted to give you a little preview and insight into my daily evening occupation. ;)

So here I go...

Pompom paper flowers, which I love, because they're soooo pretty!! :)

A couple of hundred origami cranes...

...our ring holder bowl (don't know how to call it), paper "thank you" and fimo tags...

...fabric roses, the groom's, best man's and groomsmen's boutonnieres which took like forever (only one in the picture), the second bow tie prototype (I'm going to sew it with black fabric), a frame for bridesmaids clutches...

...and crocheted heart cake toppers...

...and there's still a lot to do! :D

So thank you for understanding! :)
I wish you all a lovely summer, enjoy the sun and I'm looking forward to see you back in a couple of weeks. :D

Tadaa....our wedding invitations!

Today I would love to show you our final wedding invitations! :) I've already shown you parts of it and now I'm happy to show you the final result. :D We sent them out last week and hope they'll arrive at their destinations safely.

I carved five different stamps for the invitation, mostly various farn stamps. ;) I wanted the invitations to be hand-crafted and selfmade (with a lot of ♥ :D) and chose a design and style that suit us both. :)

I hand-wrote the main invitation, the lettering of our names, the headlines and drew all the illustrations by myself. At the end I scanned the handwritten and drawn parts, put everything together and printed it on special paper.

Thanks again to my MOH, she is the best! :* I couldn't have done it without her help! ♥ Or at least it would've taken years! ;)

P.s.: As so many emails arrive me asking where I got the kraft cardboard from our wedding invitations, this is the shop. In this post I give a little more information about the cardboard. Have fun! :)

A crafty weekend

Sorry for the long absence. Life was so busy the last weeks. Work kept me from living my normal life. I had to work almost everyday, no matter if it was weekend or holiday. :(

Last weekend some of my very good friends came and helped me with the wedding preparations. It was a wonderful and fun weekend, full of crafting, talking, laughing and good food. :)

Here are some impressions of the weekend:

The invitations are ready to be send out. :) I'm happy how they turned out and looking forward to showing them to you!
Wish you all a wonderful mothers day! :)

Last weekend...

This is how our dining-table looks lately. There's just too little space on my working desk and I always create a huge mess while working. I just can't work without this mess. ;)

Finally I'm going to finish the invitations this week. I'm very excited to show them to you. :) :)

Last weekend I also prepared two swaps, ready to be shipped!! Thanks so much for the patience.

One for Aafke: Selfmade tags, an origami bunny, some stickers, a stamp, a shell, some seeds for her garden...

And one for Blanca: Selfmade tags, pretty purple paper, origami paper, some stickers, a crocheted little basket, bakers twine, a pen...

The weather is so sunny and wonderful since the weekend. This lifts everyone's spirits. :D
Wish you all a lovely week! :)

Finally the design is decided on...

It's already April and finally the design of the invitations are almost done. :) With the help of my MOH I worked a lot on the invitations. While she was spending her time cutting and folding the folders, I designed the content and started sewing the invitations together.

Here are the folded and partially sewed folders.

My fiancé and I chose fern for our wedding symbol, as its shape is versatile and we love its playful look. :) So I carved lots of fern stamps for the invitation:

I also created a little logo with the first letters of our first names. :) We wanted it simple with little scrollwork, so it wouldn't be too corny. ;)

I loved carving the stamps. But I still have problems to carve letters. They never turn out as good as the drawn one. If anyone has a good advice for carving letters, please let me know!! I had to carve our logo 5 times till I was more or less content with the result. I'm a perfectionist...I know. ;)

And finally I finished drawing the program and the map.

Now everything has to be scanned, put together on the computer, printed out, cut to the right size and embellished with stamps!
I'm excited how the final invitation will turn out and looking forward to showing you the result. :) We want to send them out in the middle of April, so 1-2 weeks to go! :D
